The baba Wali sanctuary

The Baba Wali Sanctuary is a place of great spiritual significance located on the top of a hill in the heart of the city. The people of Kandahar often gather around the sanctory on weekends to share a picnic with their family and neighbours.

Kherqa Sharif

The Kherqa Sharif sanctuary is a significant religious site located in Kandahar. It holds great importance for the Muslim community as it houses one of the sacred relics, the Prophet Muhammad's cloak.

Kandahar city

One of the oldest inhabited sites in the world, fortified from -1000 -750 Before Jesus-Chirst. An important point of the Persian Empire in the 6th century before Jesus Christ, then in the 4th century before Jesus Christ and under Alexander the Great, ancient Kandahar was called Alexandria of Arachosia, before taking the name of Kandahar during the Islamic conquest in the 16th century.

The Red mosque

The Red Mosque holds great historical and cultural importance as it was the place where the Muslim cleric Mollah Omar, known as "the commander of the faithful" during the first Islamic Emirat of Afghanistan (1996-2001), delivered his sermons. The mosque's striking red architecture and interesting designs make it a visually captivating landmark.
