Kabul
Description de l'article de blog.

Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital
Most people arrive in Kabul braced for the worst and leave surprised. It’s a big, loud, layered city in a bowl of mountains, with bird markets and book streets and bakeries on every corner.
It’s usually where our trips begin, and it sets the tone for the whole country.
What to see
Babur’s Gardens, where the first Mughal emperor is buried, with the best view over the city.
The National Museum, patched back together after everything it’s been through.
Chicken Street, for old carpets, lapis and antiques.
The bird market in the old town, and the crumbling grandeur of the Darul Aman Palace.
The food
Kabul eats well. Mountains of qabili palaw, fresh bread straight off the oven wall, kebabs, and green tea poured until you give up saying no. Your guide takes you where Kabulis actually eat, not where tourists are sent.
Is Kabul safe to visit?
Kabul is calmer than most people expect. We move through the city with a local guide, we know which areas to keep to, and we read the room.
For the full picture, see how we handle safety.
Getting around
You’ll get around by car with your guide and driver, with plenty of it on foot in the bazaars and gardens. The city is walkable in the right places, and far more relaxed once you’re in it.
See Kabul with us
Kabul opens most of our group tours, and we can build extra days into a private trip.

Sha-do shamshira moque
The citadel was constructed in the 13th century during the Ghurid dynasty and was expanded during the Timurid dynasty in the 15th century. It served as a military stronghold and residence for various rulers throughout history. It is considered a masterpiece of medieval architecture and is a significant cultural heritage site in Afghanistan.

Babur Garden
